Our Services

Dental Crown
________
This procedure becomes necessary if you have a particularly week tooth that needs to be held together or requires a bridge. A dental crown is also necessary if you have a tooth that is extremely discolored, or you wish to have a crown placed for cosmetic reasons.

Cavity Filling
________
The dental filling procedure is often quick and performed with the use of a local anesthetic if necessary. Dr. Nigus and his staff will prepare the area to be treated before removing any decay.

Cosmetic Dentistry
________
Dr. Nigus will take the time to meet with you, examine your dental health and discuss your cosmetic goals before recommending appropriate treatment. Establishing a comfortable, stable bite is just as important as enhancing your natural smile.

Teeth Whitening
________
Just like people are born with different colors of hair, we also are predisposed to different tooth colors. Combine our genetic tendencies with foods and habits that discolor our teeth like coffee, tea, berries or tobacco, our teeth can continue to darken as we age. Teeth whitening is one of the easiest and most economical ways to makeover your smile.

Root Canal
________
A Root Canal is a type of dental surgery that is designed to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, as well as to prevent reinfection of the tooth. This often can save your tooth. Through this procedure, the infected pulp is removed from the inside of the tooth and is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed.

Dental Bridge
________
A dental bridge can be either fixed or removable. A removable bridge is best when used as a temporary restoration. A fixed dental bridge can be supported in three ways: by natural teeth, dental implants, or a combination of the two.

Tooth Extraction
________
There are a variety of reasons why a patient may need a tooth extraction. In some cases, there is a genetic issue with tooth placement, and often it is necessary for dental health due to severe damage or decay. Once it is determined that saving the tooth with a root canal is not a viable option, Dr. Nigus can perform a tooth extraction in the comfort of our family dental office in Saint Joseph, MO.

Restorative Dentistry
________
Choosing the right restorative treatment to solve your dental problem often begins with a thorough exam and diagnostic tools such as digital x-rays to look for underlying dental problems that may ultimately compromise your results. There is a wide range of treatments and procedures available.

Porcelain Veneers
________
The porcelain veneer procedure usually takes 2 or 3 visits to the dentist. Dr. Nigus will prepare your teeth for the veneers by removing a small amount of the natural tooth structure. This creates room for the veneers to fit comfortably and stably in your mouth.

Dentures
________
Dr. Nigus will carefully take you through the process of creating a new smile. Conventional dentures are fitted after a full-mouth extraction once your gums have healed. Dentures, in most cases, are immediately created and placed after your extractions, allowing your gums to heal underneath the appliance.

Dental Implants
________
Implant secured dentures promote improved health and quality of life compared to traditional removable dentures. While there is a greater investment for dental implant-supported dentures, they ultimately provide superior long term benefits over removable dentures

General Dentist
Dr. Daniel B. Nigus
I grew up on a farm in Northeast Kansas where I became accustomed to hard work at a young age. Being from a household of very modest means I was determined to get an education to improve the standard of living for my future family.
After graduating from UMKC my dream began to unfold. Don't get me wrong, it has taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice from my family. But I humbly share with you, I have now been in practice for 24 years, and my practice continues to grow. I began my dental career as an associate dentist in St. Joseph, where I worked for nine months before setting off on my own to start a dental practice.
I believe my success is in part by the loyalty of our wonderful customers (please look at our reviews). I look forward to the opportunity to help you with your dental care.
